SOME THINGS I ENJOY

“There is a music to the past, the sweet tones of perfect octaves even though we know it was never so.”
~Robert Kinsley, author of A Walk Along the Old Tracks
Hello!
SOME THINGS I ENJOY
SANTA FE
Santa Fe
One of the most historic, artistic, and fascinating cities, Santa Fe is known as “The City Different.” What do I like so much? The architecture, the store windows, the food, Flamenco dancing! Add to that the brilliant climate and surrounding landscape with mountains to hike in, and knowing that stray cats in town get to perch wherever they want. That’s classy.
Cats
My earliest memory of touch is not my mother’s, but a cat’s, a double-toed, white Manx cat named Cottontail that nestled on my bed, warming my toes every night.

Why We Read Memoir
“We’re all like this. We’re all ruined. We’re all loved. We all feel like victims.
One of the possibilities of memoir is to give a gift to somebody. You’re getting to say on paper what most families never get to say in conversation.”
~~ Anne Lamott
“If what you’re writing about wasn’t intense, you wouldn’t be writing about it.” ~~ David Sheff
“Some of us are the designated rememberers. That’s why (writing) memoir interests us--because we’re the ones who pass the stories.” ~~ Pat Conroy
